Local Art #2 - Half, But Whole
Chin propped on an arm. One eye open and gazing.
Just half of a face looking at me as I look back. But I don’t need more to see their whole soul.
I love art that is simple and captures essence minimally. This drawing is one of my all-time favorites. In the wall full of postcard size figure drawings where i found this (yes, Suzanne is prolific), it stood out. Minimal, but complete. Half, but whole.
By Suzanne Galazka
When I asked Suzanne why the drawing stopped at half of the person,
she told me that she simply ran out of time during the modeling session. Ha! I love it!
